Dennis Lillie, Graham McKenzie, Terry Alderman, and Shaun Tait – Western Australia has always had the best production line of fast bowlers in the country.

Born in Edunda, a small rural town in South Australia, Kane Richardson always had that innate quality to prosper at the highest level.

On the back of remarkable performances in junior cricket, Kane was fast-tracked into the Australia U-19 set up for the U-19 Cricket World Cup. With 6 wickets and 78 runs in just 3 matches, Kane Richardson was one of the main architects behind Australia U-19s successful run in 2010 U-19 World Cup.

In 2013, the Western Australian pacer made his debut against Sri Lanka. Fast forward to 2020, Kane Richardson is a regular face of Australia’s limited-overs fixtures. In 2018, Kane Richardson’s move to expand his stockpile paid dividends. With 24 wickets from 14 matches, the pacer ended up as the highest wicket-taker of Big Bash League. He played a substantial role in Melbourne Renegades’ victorious run.

Kane marks his return to familiar territory after a four-year break. The Royal Challengers Bangalore acquired the services of the Western Australian for a sum of 4 crores.

Number That Matters

  • 39 – Kane Richardson has taken a total of 39 wickets at an economy rate of 5.67 in his ODI career.
  • 65 – The 29-year-old has bowled a total of 65 overs in the T20I fixtures for Australia.
  • 83 – Seasoned campaigner, Kane Richardson has fetched 83 wickets in 68 matches at an economy rate of 7.84 in the Big Bash League.

A street-smart bowler fostered with an ability to contribute with the willow down the order, Kane Richardson has firmly cemented his place in the Australian line-up. After coming off from a brilliant domestic season, the pacer is in the reckoning for a spot in the Australian side for the all-important T20 World Cup.

Kane Richardson is elated to be a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore for the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League. The pacer will look to spearhead the death bowling annex with his improvised skill-sets.
