Josh Hazlewood is excited about making his Indian Premier League debut with multipletime champions Chennai Super Kings, saying “the IPL is such a huge part of the year for a lot of players.”
The Australia quick was picked by the Lions at the Player auction ahead of the 2020 season. Originally to begin on March 29, IPL-13 has been delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic.
“There are a few things to fall into place yet, but the IPL is such a huge part of the year for a lot of players and probably the strongest T20 competition in the world… and you learn a lot about how to play your T20 cricket and how to play in those conditions,” Hazlewood told ESPNcricinfo on Monday (July 20).
“You’ve seen guys come out of it much better players, so there’s a lot of positives to it,” added the 29-year-old from New South Wales.
The Lions are the most consistent team in IPL history, having qualified for the Playoffs in all their 10 seasons, reached the final eight times and lifted the trophy thrice.
