The Brisbane Heat will celebrate their opening match of the KFC Big Bash League on Friday with their own ‘Oh What A Feeling” moment.
Long-time Brisbane Heat and Queensland Cricket sponsor Toyota will be a visible presence for the club in BBL{10, revealed today as the sleeve sponsor for the coming tournament.
Toyota has been a partner of the Heat since BBL}02, with the partnership encompassing the Brisbane metro dealer network.
Queensland Cricket CEO Terry Svenson said the extension of their existing Toyota sponsorship was a “win-win” for both parties.
“The opportunity was there to secure a partner for a very visible asset on the Heat playing strip and when sat down with Toyota , it became clear we were very much on the same page,’’ he said.
“We’re very pleased to have Toyota join our Principal partner CUA, major partner Betta and Village Roadshow on our playing apparel. The Heat are consistently one of the most viewed teams in the BBL and we’re looking forward to the team getting their season underway on Friday.”

Toyota’s Ryan Lacey, the Manager, Marketing & Support, Northern Region, said Toyota was excited to extend their existing relationship to add branding to the playing apparel.
“Toyota and cricket are synonymous with summer,’’ he said.
“We’re very pleased to have forged such a lengthy and rewarding partnership with the Heat and it is exciting to be involved in this fashion.
“We wish Chris Lynn and Darren Lehmann and the players all the best for the opening games and look forward to cheering them on at the Gabba and Metricon Stadium in the summer holidays,” Lacey said.
The Heat departed today for Canberra where they will take on the Melbourne Stars on Friday night and then the Sydney Thunder on Monday evening at Manuka Oval.
Brisbane will travel with an extended squad to prepare for the two matches while in a bio-secure hub.
English batsman Dan Lawrence will be Brisbane’s sole international player for the opening rounds, with spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman recovering from COVID-19 in hospital on the Gold Coast and allrounder Lewis Gregory set to travel from South Africa later this week to quarantine for two weeks before linking with the Heat after Christmas.
South African fast bowler Morne Morkel will travel with the squad as he continues his recovery from ankle surgery.
