Dr. Hamid Shinwari was announced as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Afghanistan Cricket Board today replacing Mr. Rahmatullah Qureishi.

Dr. Hamid Shinwari was announced as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Afghanistan Cricket Board today replacing Mr. Rahmatullah Qureishi.

Mr. Hamid Shinwari, who has previously served with Afghanistan Cricket Board as its CEO between 2010 and 2012 as well, is a qualified individual with a rich academic background. His academic qualifications include a Ph.D in health policy and management from Nanjing Medical University in China as well as Masters degrees in Public Health from University of Queensland in Australia.

Apart from Medical qualifications, He has also obtained a Masters in Business Administration from Preston University.

Addressing an introductory gathering with ACB staff, Mr. Shinwari added that his priorities will be focused on digitalization and policy building as well as system development at the organization.

Welcoming Mr. Shinwari, the outgoing executive, Rahmatullah Qureishi expressed his best wishes and said he is glad that a qualified candidate of Mr. Shinwari’s caliber will helm the organization’s affairs at executive level.

It must be noted that Mr. Shinwari has a vast professional experience consisting of major positions in national and International organizations such as USAID, UN, OASIS, et al.
