The recent Momentum Multiply Titans Player of the Year awards signaled the end of the 2020/21 campaign, and thoughts and plans have already moved onto the next season on the horizon.

The South African cricket landscape has changed with a new structure and, in that spirit of change, Northerns Cricket Union (NCU) has also made some structural changes to its personnel.

“The upcoming season promises to be one of exciting change at the senior level. It is an interesting time, and we anticipate our players to remain as competitive as ever,” NCU Cricket Services Manager Charlotte Serwadi enthused.

“Of course, one of our recipes for success has always been a strong foundation for our players coming through the pipeline. With this in mind, we are thrilled to announce the new appointments into our coaching framework for the upcoming season.”

The coaches appointed will all play a prominent role in the development of the next generation of Titans stars, and they all bring a strong skill-set to the job at hand.

“Martelize van der Merwe and Itumeleng Tlokotsi will take charge of the Under-16 girls and boys respectively. In the Under-19s, Onke Mtsiba will coach the boys, while Byron Fraser will head both the Under-19 girls and the women’s Provincial side,” Serwadi revealed.

“Finally, Thabang Khumalo will head up our Provincial Academy Intake, as well as our Colts outfit. We are extremely pleased for all our candidates, and wish them every success in the coming season,” Serwadi concluded.
