“I am so proud to see Christopher Dempsey, Ross McKenzie, Arthur Owen and the late Allan Connolly honoured for their service to cricket and their communities. Our sport is indebted to each of them.

“These individuals recognised today have done so much for our game and the communities they work and live in across the country. They have had a profound impact on many and I congratulate them on being named in this year’s Honours List.

“The Queen’s Birthday Honours List allows us a chance to recognise and thank some of the incredibly important contributors right across our community.”

Cricket Australia director and former WACA board member Dr Vanessa Guthrie was also acknowledged in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List, named as an Officer in the General Division (AO) for distinguished service to the minerals and resources sector, and as a role model for women in business.

“We congratulate Dr Vanessa Guthrie and are thrilled to see her recognised for her ongoing contribution to her industry. Australian Cricket is fortunate to benefit from Vanessa’s leadership, vision and experience, in her role as director of Cricket Australia.

“Cricket Australia congratulates everyone that has been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday 2021 Honours List, especially those from within the cricketing community,” Hockley said.
