Scotland Men will play Zimbabwe in three T20I matches in September marking the first international cricket to be played in Scotland since 2019.

The highly anticipated games will be played at The Grange on September 15, 17 and 19, and will form part of Scotland’s ICC T20 World Cup preparations.

Zimbabwe will play three ODI’s and five T20I’s against Ireland before heading to Edinburgh to face the Scots before the Scotland team leave for Oman and the UAE.

The two sides last faced each other in a World Cup qualifier in 2018 in Bulawayo which ended in a tie.

Scotland Head Coach Shane Burger said: “This is an exciting opportunity for us to play a full member country before we set off to the T20 World Cup. It gives the players a great chance to showcase their skills and allows us as management to find the strongest playing combinations. It will be wonderful to finally have international cricket back being played on home soil in front of our own fans.”

Cricket Scotland CEO Gus Mackay said: “We’re very grateful to Zimbabwe for coming back through Scotland on their way home to help us with our preparations for the T20 World Cup and we look forward to welcoming them. I’m delighted to finally have international cricket being played in Scotland after a long break.”
