Cricket Ireland: Broadcast update – Ireland v Zimbabwe men’s T20I series

Yesterday we experienced some technical issues around the proposed broadcast of the first match of the Ireland v Zimbabwe T20I series.

The problem lay in a stability of the picture feed from the ground to the television broadcaster who was set to televise the match in the Ireland and UK markets. Our production partners and the broadcaster worked hard to try resolve the issue right up to the start of play, but could not resolve the issue in time.

However, various mainly online platforms that could take the feed at a lower quality threshold were able to utilise the feed, so several countries did have access to the game’s stream through mainly app-based or online platforms.

We are sorry that fans in Ireland and the UK could not get access to the game yesterday, and assure you that we are working hard to try and find a solution to this issue. We are exploring numerous options within our broadcast rights contract to make upcoming games available.
