The “Universe Boss” is back on the biggest stage in the world and fans all over can’t wait to see what he has in store. Chris Gayle is undoubtably one of the best batsmen to ever play the game of cricket. However, when it comes to T20’s, you would be dismissed from many circles (especially in the Caribbean), if you don’t consider him the undisputed GOAT – Greatest Of All Time.

It seems as though every time he steps onto a cricket pitch, he breaks another record. Whether donning his beloved Maroon, or the colours of one of his T20 franchises around the world, Chris Gayle is box office cricket at its finest. He now has his sights set on an even bigger record with the rest of #MissionMaroon. Along with Dwayne Bravo, Andre Russell and Lendl Simmons, Gayle will be looking to win his third ICC T20 World Cup title, having been a part of the winning sides in 2012 and 2016. The men from the Caribbean are the only team to have twice triumphed.

Playing in a new role, batting at number 3, Chris has been an obvious inspiration to the West Indies dressing room. The squad boasts a solid combination of youthful exuberance and proven experience, with Gayle and the other senior players serving as an ever-present example of T20 success.

The script could not be written better for ‘The Universe Boss’. His dedication to perform positively in this competition has become even clearer as he decided to leave the Indian Premier League (IPL) bubble in order to be fresh for the ultimate T20 showcase. The West Indies will begin their campaign on October 23 versus England and WI don’t want to miss it!
