That selection of players features Dane van Niekerk. Named MVP of the Women’s competition in 2021, the Oval Invincibles captain is one to watch out for in Australia. She finished overall top runs scorer on her way to lifting The Hundred trophy and also helped out with some brilliant bowling. She hit the winning runs in the first ever match of the competition and in that same innings, also hit fifty!

A player to keep an eye on down under is Harmanpreet Kaur. She was forced to leave The Hundred early due to injury, but in the three innings she did play, made a real impact. She finished the competition with the highest average of 52 and will be amongst the finest batters in the WBBL.

Jemimah Rodrigues was one of the standout performers of the year and made the highest score in the Women’s competition during The Hundred 2021, hitting 92 not out against the Welsh Fire. Rodrigues finished second in the top run scorers chart, runner up to eventual competition winner, Dane van Niekerk.

Oval Invincibles star, Marizanne Kapp, will play for the Perth Scorchers throughout the competition. She took the first and final wickets during The Hundred and was key to her teams success in 2021. Her incredible figures of 4-9 in the final against Southern Brave pushed her team towards lifting the first ever Hundred trophy.

The Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Stars get the competition under way at 09:40 UK time on Thursday 14 October. That match will see Burns and Verma take on Bouchier and Smith at the Blundstone Arena.
