Attending a Sydney Sixers match at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) just got a whole lot tastier.

Sixers fans will be treated to Merivale’s trademark food and beverage offering at the SCG this summer after the hospitality giant was named as the exclusive hospitality experience partner of the SCG and SFS precinct.

And the party starts at the Sixers’ very first match of BBL|11 – a clash between the two-time defending champions and the Melbourne Stars on Sunday, December 5.

Tickets to that fixture and the Sixers’ other home games at the SCG and Coffs Harbour are on sale via Ticketek. Family friendly ticket prices for Sydney’s most exciting summer fun begin at $5 for children, concessions from $20, adults from $25 and just $55 for families.

Merivale operates some of Australia’s most iconic dining and entertainment venues and will bring its expertise to the SCG throughout the BBL season and across Sydney’s New Year’s Test.

The partnership will see Merivale’s celebrated executive chefs Danielle Alvarez (Fred’s), Jordan Toft (mimi’s, Bert’s Bar & Brasserie), Dan Hong (Ms.G’s, Mr. Wong), Mike Eggert (Totti’s), Ben Greeno (The Paddington, Hotel Centennial) and Vincenzo Biondini (Vinnie’s Pizza) bring their expertise into a stadium setting under the leadership of CEO Justin Hemmes, Group Operations Manager (Events) Debbie Higgins and senior talent across the business including Franck Moreau MS and Sam Egerton.

Cricket NSW General Manager – Customer Experience Chris Botherway said the partnership between Merivale and the SCG was a huge win for Sixers fans.

“This really does offer our fans at Sydney Sixers’ games the very best in food and beverage offerings and the live match day experience hard to beat for quality and affordability,” Botherway said.

“Families will be able to take in Sydney’s best value summer entertainment in the knowledge they can enjoy some of Sydney’s best food.

“The family and budget friendly options are still on the menu. You can still get a pie or hot dog and a drink for under $10 but there’s now options for those looking for a more premium dining experience.”

Merivale CEO Justin Hemmes said Merivale will employ over 1000 staff across both venues. Service professionals will deliver the same standard of excellence which is synonymous with the brand that has reinvigorated Sydney culture for the past 65 years.

“This is a major milestone in our company’s history and builds on our commitment to the city of Sydney, its culture, economy and job creation,” said Hemmes.

SCG and Venues NSW Chief Executive Officer Kerrie Mather said preparations are in full swing for the start of the BBL and the Ashes New Year’s Test match in January 2022, the largest annual sporting event on the NSW calendar.

“This is a transformational moment for our precinct and I am so excited about this new partnership with Merivale. I know they will offer our customers, members, sporting and entertainment partners the highest quality food and drink this city has to offer,” Maher said.

“When Merivale brings the best from its amazing collection of venues, we will set a new benchmark in live experiences.”

The SCG’s summer menus are currently being refined by the Merivale executive chef team and the partnership will deliver an offering focused on quality, variety, value for money and ease and speed of service.
