Green has had a busy winter, playing in the Caribbean Premier League, and is feeling excited to be back in Australia ahead of Thunder’s season opener.

“It’s my favourite time of the year, being with the Sydney Thunder” said Green.

“This year is all the more exciting – we’re closer to normality and get to welcome back the Thunder Nation to our games.”

Green is looking forward to starting the season at Manuka Oval, where the Thunder had plenty of success in BBL|10, before returning to Sydney Showground Stadium for the first time in almost two years.

“We’ve made Canberra a home away from home, certainly last year with the amount of games we played there,” said Green.

“We can’t wait to get back to Manuka and then we are really looking forward to getting back to our home at Showground Stadium in front of the Thunder Nation.”

In a competition like the Big Bash, the support of the fans is vital to the team’s success.

Despite not playing at Sydney Showground Stadium last season, Green says he was blown away by the support of the Thunder Nation and is looking forward to playing back in front of a packed crowd at the club’s home ground this season.

“It was incredible, the messages and videos we were receiving in the bubble really helped get us through,” said Green.

“That sea of green at Showground Stadium is something we long for, that goosebumps feeling as we run out of the tunnel and hear that noise.

“We can’t wait get back there and put in some solid performances to keep the Thunder Nation loud and proud.”
