The entire Sydney Sixers squad is looking forward to getting back in front of a sea of magenta at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Sunday, but few players will be more excited than English import James Vince.

The last two games Vince has played on the hallowed turf of the SCG have been finals, and his Sixers won both of those matches.

Vince has fond memories of the ground, and of those famous victories, especially his explosive 95-run innings in the BBL|10 Final which earned him the player of the match award.

“From a personal point of view it was great to be able to make more of a contribution last year,” said Vince.

“We had been away from the SCG for so long, so to come back and have a crowd like that – not just the numbers, but the atmosphere – was incredible.

“It definitely made me hungry to come back this year and hopefully produce some more memories like that.”

Vince is excited to be back in Sydney, after last year’s disrupted season saw the Sixers on the road for much of the year. He is also excited to link back up with a strong Sydney squad.

“There are a lot of players here who have achieved a lot in the game, with good reputations who have done it all around the world,” said Vince.

“The culture of the group and the togetherness gives you an extra edge.

“You are playing for each other, you enjoy everyone else doing well and that has been a big part of why I’ve been so keen to come back and play for the Sixers every year.”
