Afghanistan Cricket Board reveals that domestic cricketers affected by the unfortunate economic situations in the country, and the COVID-shortened 2020-21 domestic season will be paid an increased amount of match fees in First Class and List A cricket events as compensation for the disruption.

Many domestic cricketers struggled financially in recent poor economic situations in the country, as well as the cancellation of the Ahmad Shah Abdali FC Tournament in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, made players struggle financially.

Previously, the centrally contracted players used to receive 7000 AFN for each List-A game, while they were paid 15000 AFN for each FC match; other domestic players were paid 4000 AFN in List-A while they used to earn 8000 AFN from each FC match in the domestic circuit.

As per the proposal of the Domestic cricket department, the match fees for First Class and List A cricket are increased for the 2021-22 season. Domestic players will now earn 75% more of what they earned before in List-A cricket. Besides this, the domestic players will also see a 25% increment in their FC cricket match fees.

Moreover, the centrally contracted players of ACB will also earn more while playing in domestic List-A cricket. They will earn 30 percent more than what they used to receive previously in List-A matches, while their FC cricket match fees remain the same as previous.

As per the revised manual, the centrally contracted players will earn AFN 10000 per List-A match, while they will receive AFN 15000 in FC cricket. Other players (Domestic contracted and non-contracted) will receive AFN 7000 for List-A and AFN 10000 for First Class Cricket.
