Cricket South Africa are pleased to announce the release of the rest of the
2021/22 Women’s Provincial fixtures for the One-Day and T20 competitions, with the first pair of
matches getting underway this weekend.
The Northern Cape will kick off Pool B action with a home tie against Free State, with the teams
playing a 50-over game on Saturday, 15 January at the Kimberley Oval, before completing the double
bill with a T20 clash the next day at the same venue.
The next round of fixtures takes place over the weekend of 22 – 23 January and will feature the Top
6 division teams as well Pool A and Pool B, with 12 matches taking place across six venues around
the country.
In the Top 6, who began their season with a One-Day tournament in a bio-secure environment (BSE)
in October last year, the Senwes Dragons will be up against the Hollywoodbets KwaZulu-Natal
Coastal side, while the Easterns and the Titans Ladies go head-to-head in Benoni.
The other two teams in the division, the Six Gun Grill Western Province and the Imperial Lions meet
up in an exciting north versus south derby during the next window of fixtures between 05 – 06
February.
Meanwhile in the second division, four inland Pool B teams, namely Mpumalanga, Kwa-Zulu Natal
Inland, Free State and Limpopo will also be in action next week, with four coastal Pool A teams,
including Eastern Province, Boland, South Western Districts and Border also taking to the field during
the same weekend.
Teams finishing in last place in the Top 6 national league’s 50-over format will be relegated to the
inland and coastal pools while the teams topping Pool A and B will play in a once-off promotion clash
got a spot in the first division.
Johan Weyers, CSA Senior Cricket Manager said: “The women’s domestic competitions remain an
important feeder for our high performance programs.
“Our objective is to provide access through much-needed playing opportunities and to enhance
performance through competitive cricket at provincial level,” he added.
“I want to wish all the teams the very best as they resume their season in the Top 6 in 2022, while
the inland and coastal teams get their season underway in the new year,” he concluded.
