Afghanistan tour of Bangladesh: The whole group of Afghan players and support personnel tested negative for Covid-19 in the second Rapid Antigen tests that were taken by the squad on Wednesday after several members of the Afghanistan touring party in Bangladesh, including some players, have tested positive for Covid-19.

In welcome news ahead of the start of the ODI series between Afghanistan and Bangladesh, all Afghan players and support staff have returned negative results in the second Rapid Antigen Covid-19 tests conducted on Wednesday, February 16. The players went into isolation on February 15 in Sylhet where they are undergoing a week-long training and conditioning camp ahead of the ODI series after several members of the Afghanistan Team tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday morning.

Afghanistan had to cancel their practice session on Tuesday after some members of the touring party tested positive for the virus. With the confirmation of the negative Covid-19 tests, both sides agree and confirm that the preparation camp of the Afghanistan team will resume from today Thursday, February 17.

The ACB is monitoring the situation closely and the players alongside the management and the coaching group will remain under the constant supervision of the ACB Medical Team.

The ACB would like to thank the Bangladesh Cricket Board for extending their support after the positive test results emerged in the Afghan camp. The white-ball series between the two sides is scheduled to get underway on Wednesday, February 23 in Chattogram.
