VOC and HBS will soon travel to Spain to participate in the spectacular ten-over matches of the Bet2ball European Cricket League (ECL). All matches will take place in Cartama, 20 km west of Malaga.
HBS relieves the Rotterdammers on 7 March. Then the residents of The Hague will play against the Farmers, followed later in the day by GEK Corfu. On March 8, Malo and Pak I Care are on the program, and on March 9 Punjab Lions. The play-offs, finals and elimination rounds will take place for HBS on March 10.
Both teams will therefore play five group matches in any case and a number of matches to progress in the tournament. If you perform well, the so-called ‘Championship Week’ will start on March 14, 2022.
About the European Cricket League
The aim of the ECL organization is to organize a true pan-European T10 Championship. With cricket clubs from countries such as Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, Finland, France, Greece, the Netherlands, Austria, Russia, Spain and the Czech Republic, it has succeeded in this aim. In 2019, VOC made an impression by winning the tournament by force majeure. In the final, the team from Rotterdam faced SG Findorff from Bremen. Scott Edwards stole the show with a world record: 137 not out in 39 balls with eighteen sixes.
