USA Cricket is announcing the launch of a recruitment process for the Head Coach of the Women’s National Women’s Team and Women’s Under 19 Teams.

USA Cricket recently decided that these two coaching roles will be combined to provide better continuity to the common players across the two squads and further enhance the development of the U19 players as they prepare for the inaugural ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup in early 2023. There is potential for adding three regional coaches in the future, who will serve as assistant coaches to the Head Coach, and more on these opportunities will be announced soon.

Announcing the launch of the process, the Cricket Operations Director of USA Cricket, Richard Done, commented, “The Cricket Committee decided that the Women’s Head Coach should be permanently based in the USA across the entire 12 months to deliver our women’s programs more regularly. The incumbent USA Women’s Coach, Julia Price, was unavailable to continue under these changed terms, so her contract wasn’t renewed.”

“We want to thank Julia for the work done over the past three years and for guiding us to the ICC Women’s Global T20 Qualifiers to be held later this year. She’s worked passionately with the Women’s Team to achieve success and great progress. With our cricket operations staff and committees, she’s helped establish the first-ever domestic pathway for women and girls in this country. We will continue to build on these solid foundations, and we wish Julia all the best in the future”.

The Women’s Head Coach Job Description and required criteria can be found here.

USA Cricket is also seeking applicants for the USA Women’s National Selection Panel to fill the vacant spots of Joan Alexander-Serrano and Patricia Whittaker, who both resigned from the Panel in 2021. Both former selectors have been long-time servants of USA Cricket.

Nadia Gruny, Chair of the USA Cricket Women’s and Girls Committee, commented, “Joan and Patricia have served cricket in the USA as selectors since 2016. Both have helped identify and bring in young, exciting talent such as Lisa Ramjit and Geetika Kodali, the latter who is shining on the international stage at the current FairBreak Invitational Tournament in Dubai. We thank both Joan and Patricia for their service to USA Cricket”.

The Women’s Selector Expression of Interest Form can be found here.

These vacancies are advertised with immediate effect and are open for applications today, Sunday, May 15th, 2022, with a closing date for applications of 11.59 pm, Monday, May 23rd, 2022.

To apply for either of the above roles, applicants should send a cover letter and CV to HR@usacricket.org by the closing date above. Please indicate either “Application – Women’s Head Coach” or “Application – Women’s Selector” in the email subject line. For the Selector application, you should also complete and attach the full Expression of Interest Form.

Full details of these vacant positions with USA Cricket will be found on the Vacancies section of the website until Monday, May 23rd.
