The Melbourne Stars will kick off their preparation for BBL|12 with the Stars Academy heading to Darwin for the CDU Top End T20.

The Stars Academy will play against the Northern Territory Strike, Papua New Guinea, a Cricket Australia XI, the Melbourne Renegades Academy.

The five teams will face off in a festival of cricket with 11 consecutive days of action packed T20 matches from 11 to 21 August.

Melbourne Stars General Manager Blair Crouch said the Melbourne Stars have been looking forward to getting to Darwin to play in the Top End series, especially after not being able to compete last year.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity for the Stars Academy players to showcase their skills and talent against quality opposition and also to give further opportunities to those on the verge of a BBL contract.”

Further details on the CDU Top End T20 including playing squads, livestream information and ticketing details will be released over coming weeks.
