Adelaide Strikers allrounder Jemma Barsby has committed to a second summer in blue, officially signing on for Weber WBBL|08.

Joining the Strikers at the start of last summer, the 26-year-old spent four seasons with the Brisbane Heat and two years in Perth before making the move south.

Now calling Adelaide home on a full-time basis, the Queensland native also joins forces with Head Coach Luke Williams at state-level, captaining the SA Scorpions last summer.

Known for her ability to bowl with both hands, the ambidextrous spinner is equally impressive with bat in hand, able to contribute vital runs in the middle order.

Notching 385 runs and 62 wickets across 94 WBBL matches, Barsby currently boasts best figures of 4/13 and an economy rate of 6.92.

Tasting ultimate glory with the Brisbane Heat in WBBL|04, the allrounder brings a wealth of knowledge and experience both on and off-field.

On her signing for the summer ahead, Barsby said:

“I’m absolutely pumped to sign on for another season with the Strikers!

“Adelaide has the best fans in the league and it’s always such a privilege to play in front of them.

“We’ve put together a really strong group who have shown they can challenge at the pointy end of the season, and we will certainly be looking to go all the way this summer.

“The WBBL is only getting bigger and better each year and I’m super excited to see where we can take this season.”

On retaining the spinner, Adelaide Strikers Head Coach Luke Williams said:

“Jemma is both a quality person and player, and we’re thrilled to have her sign on for another summer.

“She provides us flexibility with both batting and bowling options and brings terrific cricket knowledge and leadership.

“Jemma is a much-loved member of our group, and we know that she’s equally popular with Strikers fans here in Adelaide.”
