Lions Cricket are thrilled to welcome the Great Africa Hair Company to the Lions Pride. Commencing immediately, the 6 year agreement is a direct investment into the women’s game, with lead brand afri’pure set to groom the Imperial Lions ladies off-pitch.

In addition, the hair care, beauty and hygiene product lines of the Great Africa Hair Company will extend throughout the Imperial Wanderers Stadium with soap, sanitiser and many other products all set to elevate the matchday experience for the valued Lions Pride fan.

Lions Cricket CEO Jono Leaf-Wright welcomes the proudly South African brand;

“We welcome the Great Africa Hair Company with open arms: We know that when you look good, you feel good – and when you feel good: That’s when you perform to the best of your ability – on field or off. The Imperial Lions Ladies are a perfect match for this brand that celebrates confidence, celebrates South Africa and celebrates being beautiful. I have absolutely no doubt that you’re going to see this relationship go from strength to strength over the next 6 seasons.”

Founder and CEO of the Great Africa Hair Company, Salil Dhingra, says that in addition to his personal passion for the game, he feels that the game is underrepresented in South Africa, but at the same time is gaining momentum;

“Specifically, women’s cricket, which is growing very fast with players from all walks of life now engaging in the game.  It’s a great platform for a very proudly South African brand and company to partner with the Lions women’s team.”

GAHC Sales & Marketing Manager Grant Heynes says that the Lions Cricket is the pride of Joburg and thus an extension to the brand:

“We are a business that too takes pride in trading from the City of Gold.  In addition, Lions Cricket shares a common vision statement (Lions Cricket Cares) with our company, and at GAHC we care about the growing success of the women’s format of cricket, and the care of our clientele and their health & wellness needs. Through this partnership, GAHC hopes to help raise the profile of women’s cricket in South Africa.  We also feel that these young ladies are great role models for young girls and women in South Africa:  By playing their best and following healthy hair and skincare routines, they are ideal brand ambassadors for our afri’pure brand.”

The 2022/23 season is packed with promise, a season in which the Imperial Lions ladies will continue to represent the passionate Lions Pride with professionalism and ensure that all Lions partners remain  proud from first ball to final over.
