  • The best Under 19s will showcase their talent next month, prior to selectors announcing the national squad to travel to South Africa to compete in the inaugural ICC U19 Women’s T20  World Cup in January 2023
  • Western Conference v Eastern/Central Conference scheduled to play four x T20 matches over a 3-day period at Woodley Field, Van Nuys, California

USA Cricket is pleased to announce that the 2022 Women and Girls’ Domestic Pathway will conclude with much excitement next month when the 2022 Sistar Mortgage U19 Women’s National Championships will be held in Van Nuys, California from Monday October 10th – Wednesday October 12th with all games being played at the Woodley Fields. Fourteen players from the Western Conference and fourteen players from the Eastern/Central Conference will be selected to participate and announced soon.

The two teams will be playing for the 2022 Sistar Mortgage U19 National Champions Trophy, but there is even more at stake this year, with all players also competing for one of fifteen spaces on the USA Women’s U19 National Squad to go to South Africa in January 2023, to play in the first ever ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup.

USA Women’s Head Coach, Shivnarine Chanderpaul said, “We are thrilled to complete what has been an outstanding year for our youngsters with the announcement of the 2022 Sistar Mortgage U19 Women’s National Championships. Given the possible reward for all of our young players with a maiden World Cup appearance in January 2023, it will be a very important event for all involved. We have been pleased to see so much talent coming through our domestic pathway and system, with several girls already going on to represent both the U19 and Senior National teams. Our young players are getting amazing opportunities of late, which included winning the Rising Stars T20 in the Caribbean and the bilateral series vs West Indies in Florida. We want them to grow from strength to strength as they continue to develop throughout their cricketing careers.”

USA Cricket is seeking additional sponsors for the event, for potential Live Streaming, Player Well-being and other customizable opportunities. To learn more about how you can get involved in the 2022 Sistar Mortgage U19 Women’s National Championships, we ask all interested parties to contact Julie Abbott, Women’s Cricket Coordinator, via julie.abbott@usacricket.org for further information.
