#ThePrideOfJozi warmly welcomes leading logistics giant DP World, as naming rights partner to the
DP World Wanderers Stadium.
Yesterday’s unveiling witnessed the 66-year-old formerly Imperial Wanderers Stadium, undergo a name change to the DP World Wanderers Stadium. This follows the 100% acquisition of Imperial Logistics Limited (“Imperial”) by DP World Logistics FZE (“DP World”) in March 2022.
Lions Cricket fans will recall the pre-season name change of the men’s and women’s professional teams Imperial Lions to DP World Lions; the stadium naming rights is an extension of the match-winning partnership.
Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Group Chairman & Chief Executive Officer at DP World, said: “We place a strong emphasis on empowering and supporting the local people and communities in which we operate, while delivering sustainable and inclusive growth. President of Lions Cricket Anne Vilas says that the 30 000-seater, multi-purpose stadium will elevate the fan experience to a whole new level, thanks to the backing of DP World.
