Cricket Australia: Weber WBBL|08 Finals series dates confirmed

The Weber Women’s Big Bash League has confirmed dates for this season’s Finals series, with three matches to be held from November 23-26

The Weber WBBL|08 champions will be crowned at the Final on November 26, to be hosted by the first-placed team from the regular season.

To qualify for The Final, two matches will be held at the nominated home venue of the second-placed team.

  • Wednesday, November 23, – ‘The Eliminator’: Third-placed team v fourth-placed team
  • Thursday, November 24 – ‘The Challenger’: Second-placed team v winner of The Eliminator

Start times for all matches will be confirmed soon.

Weber WBBL|08 will be the second year the competition has followed this Finals format, which culminated in a memorable history-making event at Optus Stadium in November, 2021.

A record standalone WBBL crowd of 15,511 saw the Perth Scorchers take home their first women’s title, which was watched by the competition’s largest ever broadcast audience of 535,000 across TV and streaming platforms.

The Weber WBBL|08 Finals will also coincide with Australian Cricket’s inaugural Women and Girls Week, which will celebrate the vast contribution of cricket’s amazing female volunteers, coaches, officials, players and administrators.

All Finals matches will be broadcast live on Seven, Foxtel and Kayo Sports, with radio coverage from ABC Radio.

Alistair Dobson, Cricket Australia’s General Manager, Big Bash Leagues, said:

“We’re pleased to lock in dates for the Weber WBBL|08 Finals series.

“The Saturday scheduling for this season’s Final for the third season in a row will give fans the best possible chance to attend the match and watch on television across the country.

“Similarly, midweek prime time Eliminator and Challenger matches ensure fans around the country will be able to watch the action.

“It has been a massive start to WBBL and we look forward to seeing more world class cricket from the game’s best players over the coming weeks.”

Tickets are now on sale for all Weber WBBL|08 and KFC BBL|12 games. Information is available on the Big Bash website

Fans can watch 24 Weber WBBL|08 matches live on Seven, with every game on Foxtel and Kayo Sports. Coverage will also be provided by ABC Radio and cricket.com.au.
