Bio

David Wiese is a professional cricketer, representing Namibia since September 2021, having become eligible to play International Cricket because of his Namibian father.

Wiese played International cricket for South Africa from 2013 to 2016 before signing a Kolpak deal with an English county team, effectively ending his International career with Cricket South Africa. He is thus one of a handful of players in cricket history to represent two countries at the senior international level.

Wiese is one of the fifteen players to have represented two countries in One Day International Cricket and one of the sixteen players to play for two countries in T20 International Cricket.

Wiese is an experienced player, playing cricket for over 17 years and a well-known name in the T20 franchise cricket, having represented multiple teams all over the world including Lahore Qalandars with whom he won the Pakistan Super League season 7 in February 2022.

Wiese is an all-round player, bowls right arm medium fast and is an explosive batter, known for his big hits down the lower order.

Wiese is a graduate from University of Pretoria, where he pursued his Bachelor of Commerce degree (BCom) in Internal Auditing.
