Bio

Grant Elliott is an entrepreneur, businessman, commentator, and former New Zealand Cricket International player, having represented the BlackCaps in over 100 games for 9 years from 2008 to 2016 as a batting all-rounder. 

Elliott has featured for 9 domestic teams including Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League and his hometown team Wellington, which he also captained.

Grant Elliott retired from all forms of the game in August 2018 to focus on other endeavours. 

Elliott, who was born in Johannesburg but based in Wellington is also the Director at Cricket Wellington for almost 3 years now. 

He is currently the Business Development Officer and the sales consultant at Tommy’s Real Estate, Wellington’s top performing real estate agency, since Nov 2021. 

Elliott has also worked for over 5 years in the sports and technology sector. He worked at CricHQ for over 3 years and as an Ambassador for ANZ for over 4 years.

Elliott has also taken up commentary and has been broadcasting for Spark Sport for since 2021. He also serves as a part time cricket advisor at Playmaker Labs since Mar 2022, having served the same as a General Manager from June 2021 to Mar 2022. 

As a player, Elliott got his breakthrough in March 2008 when he was named to NZ’s 13-member squad for the first test against England in March 2008 after leaving his native South Africa in 2001 looking for new opportunities. 

Elliott is remembered for hitting the winning six off Dale Steyn in the 2015 ODI World Cup semi final to take BlackCaps into their first World Cup final, scoring unbeaten 84. 

Elliott received a Bachelor of Applied Management degree with specialization in Strategic Management from Otago Polytechnic in 2015.
