191 cricketers representing 51 cities were offered domestic cricket contracts 2022-23, details of which were announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board today. The contracts will run from 1 August 2022 to 31 July 2023, and see a major increase following approval by the Board of Governors in their 70th meeting held in Karachi in September.

The 15 Category A+ players will now earn a retain of PKR300,000 following a PKR50,000 increase, while 35 players under Category A will receive a monthly retainer of PKR200,000 (up by PKR15,000). Forty-eight Category B players will receive PKR185,000 per month (increase by PKR10,000), 70 Category C players will earn PKR170,000 per month (up by PKR5,000), while 24 Category D players will receive PKR150,000 per month (up by PKR10,000).

In addition to the monthly retainers, the PCB had also increased match fees across all formats.

Players who have not been offered domestic contracts, will remain available for selection for their association and, like last year, will receive match fee, daily allowance and share in prize money. A number of leading international cricketers have confirmed to the PCB they will prefer event-based contracts instead of the season contracts. These cricketers will be offered the agreed contracts in the lead up to the event they will make themselves available to participate in.
