West Australian fast bowler David Moody has joined the Melbourne Renegades for BBL|12.

The right-arm quick joins the club as an injury replacement player for young Victorian Zak Evans.

Moody, 27, has previously played for the Hobart Hurricanes and Perth Scorchers.

Evans is expected to be unavailable until mid-January, as he continues to recover from a pectoral injury.

“David’s a ready-made fast bowling option, who has been around the Big Bash for a number of seasons,” Melbourne Renegades General Manager, James Rosengarten, said.

“He’s in good form right now and we’re confident he’s someone who will add to our group and be able to do a job with the ball if called upon throughout the tournament.”

Moody has played six BBL matches across his career, with best figures of 2-27 for the Hurricanes in BBL|08.

BBL|12 Squad (so far): Nic Maddinson (C), Zak Evans, Aaron Finch, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Martin Guptill*, Peter Handscomb, Sam Harper, Marcus Harris, Mackenzie Harvey, Akeal Hosein*, Ruwantha Kellapotha*, Shaun Marsh, David Moody, Jack Prestwidge, Kane Richardson, Corey Rocchiccioli, Tom Rogers, Andre Russell*, Will Sutherland, Mujeeb Ur Rahman*, Jon Wells
