Bio

Rob Lynch is a senior cricket executive, player’s advocate, and former cricketer with experience in multiple facets of the cricket world, including governance, team management, player’s agencyand private sector technology.

Lynch is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Professional Cricketers Association, a role he has hed since May 2020. He first took up the role of Commercial Director on February 20, 2020 and within 2 months, he was promoted to an interim CEO role before being made permanent in October, later that year. He is recognized for helping grow the PCA through uncertain and challenging times of Covd-19.

Previously, in the role of Commercial Director, Lynch managed all aspects of the PCA’s commercial programme and provided management support to the CEO. He orchestrated a world’s first cricket collective rights deal for the PCA, focusing on digital and data rights. 

Lynch is a former professional cricket player. He represented New Zealand at Under-19 level before featuring for Auckland team at first class, playing only two matches before injuries curtailed his career. 

Lynch has experience in senior management roles, having worked for Middlessex Cricket for four years in two different roles. He first joined the county team as a Commercial Director, spending just over 3 years from Mar 2016 to Mar 2019 before working as a Chief Operating Officer for the next 11 months. As a commercial director, he was responsible for creating profitable partnerships and driving the sale of all sponsorship assets within the club.

Lynch has also represented PitchVision as a commercial director, where he worked witn miSport – Mobile Interactive Sport, a company providing performance feedback accessible at all levels of a number of sports including cricket.

Previously, he served CricHQ as a managing director from Sept 2011 to Apr 2014. He worked on product management, seeking new clients and industry partners.

Lynch has completed the England and Wales Cricket Board registered agent’s course as well as New Zealand Cricket accredited agent’s course. He worked as a player representative at Paragon, Your One Live Partner from Sept 2009 to Aug 2011, working on commercial profiles of professional cricketers.

Lynch started off as a Cricket Office Administrator at Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) from Mar 2000 to Mar 2002. He assisted in the organization and management of all of the MCC’s cricket matches played throughout the season in the UK and major match days at Lords.

Lynch then served Brandtech Industries as a sales and marketing manager for over 4 years. He had responsibility for the sales and marketing of all categories. 

During this period, Lynch stayed in touch with cricket, serving Primrose Hill Cricket Club and Cornwall Cricket Club as a director of cricket and development manager respectively.

Lynch did his schooling from Auckland Grammar School.
