Fans attending the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup double-headers in Gqeberha and Paarl this weekend will be entertained by live performances from top local artists ahead of the cricket action. Idols South Africa Season Six runner-up , Lloyd Cele, will get the party started at St George’s Park ahead of the double-header which sees England take on India and South Africa hosting Australia, while popular teen group, Temple Boys, will excite the crowd at Boland Park before Pakistan and West Indies and New Zealand and Sri Lanka take centre stage.
The award-winning Cele will start his performance at 13h45 ahead of the opening match of the day between England and India starting at 15h00.
In Paarl, Temple Boys will also start their set at 13h45 prior to the 15h00 match between Pakistan and West Indies.
Gates open two hours before the match, and spectators are encouraged to arrive early to be part of the pre-match atmosphere.
The ‘Joy Brigade’ will be present at all matches, bringing the fun and energy to the action-packed day of cricket. Fans will also be treated to fun giveaways, kids activity zones and fan club areas, making it a memorable and inclusive experience for everyone.
There is a feast of cricket on the cards over the weekend with plenty at stake as the competition approaches the business end. Every match and point is significant, with teams looking to secure their place in the semi-finals taking place at Newlands Cricket Ground on 23 and 24 February.
The Women’s T20 World Cup has already made a big impact on the women’s cricket landscape, with South Africa’s opening matches at Newlands Cricket Ground and Boland Park attracting record crowds for women’s international cricket.
