Bio
Lawson Naidoo is currently serving as the Independent Chairperson at Cricket South Africa, a role he has held since June 2021. His mission as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors is to bring South Africa Cricket to the top of the World game.

Naidoo is a member of ICC’s Development Committee as one of the three Full Member Representatives and he also sits on the ICC’s Audit Committee. He is also Cricket South Africa’s Representative in the ICC Board of Directors.

Naidoo has also been serving as Executive Secretary at the Council for the Advancement of the South African Constitution (CASAC) since September 2010. He has been a key figure for the organization in advocating for adherence to constitutional values and priniples, in particular accountability, transparency and respect for the rule of law.

A Lawyer by practice, Naidoo was an Activist for African National Congress (ANC) in the United Kingdom and was a columnist for The Wisden Cricketer in the mid-2000s, writing about cricket in South Africa.

Naidoo has over 30 years’ experience in the political, parliamentary, corporate and non-governmental sectors. He was Special Advisor to the Speaker of South African Parliament during Nelson Mandela’s tenure from 1994 to 1999.

Naidoo is the founding partner of the Paternoster Group – African Political insight, a political risk consultancy. He has been with the organization since 2015. He is also a Trustee for Momentum Health Medical Scheme and Chairman of its Governance and Remuneration Committee.

Naidoo holds a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Cambridge.
