The Annual General Meeting of the ACB’s board members was held today, 8th March 2023 in Kabul. Mr. Mirwais Ashraf, ACB Chairman and Chair of the Board, presided the meeting, which was attended by all board members.

Annual Report 2022:

During the meeting, a detailed presentation on the organization’s accomplishments in 2022 was delivered, which included the Yearly financial and audit reports, international cricket, domestic cricket, revenue, policy development, and other important issues. The participants were also briefed on the major challenges and unperformed areas. Meanwhile, a mitigation plan has been put forward to address these issues and gaps.

Annual Plan 2023:

Afghanistan’s international cricket season 2023 was also thoroughly covered. In addition, board members recommended resuming the Afghanistan Premier League and properly organizing the 9th Shpageeza Cricket League. According to them, the SCL and APL are the two most important leagues in Afghanistan’s domestic cricket and play a crucial part in promoting young cricketers and developing new talents, and they must be properly organized.

Policy Development: 

Additionally, all of the policies that were previously presented at the last meeting were approved by the board members. These policies were developed in 2021-22 and reviewed by a technical committee with minimal changes. Human Resource Policy, Operational Manual, Finance Policy, Procurement Policy, Selection Policy, Discipline Code, Anti-Corruption Code, Anti-Doping Regulations, Domestic Selection Policy, Code of Conduct, Administration Policy, IT Policy, and Media Policy are among the policies that were approved today.

To conclude the meeting, board members thanked ACB Senior Management for the organization’s effective leadership and for having a complete annual plan for 2023.

The ACB Annual General Meeting is an annual event hosted by the Afghanistan Cricket Board. It is chaired by the ACB Chairman and is attended by the ACB CEO as well as board members, where activities and achievements of the previous years as well as goals for the coming years as discussed.
