Bio

Terry Svenson is the Chief Executive Officer at Queensland Cricket & Brisbane Heat, a role he permanently took on in August 2019, after being appointed Acting CEO in June 2019. He has a long-standing relationship with Queensland Cricket, having previously served on the Brisbane Heat Committee from April 2015 to December 2017 and as a Non-Executive Director of Queensland Cricket from December 2017 to June 2019. During his time at Queensland Cricket, he has also held the positions of Chairman of Brisbane Heat and Member of the Diversity Committee.

Svenson brings extensive leadership experience from both business and sport, having held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Suntory Beverage & Food Asia Pacific, a multinational food and beverage company, where he was a seasoned outcome-focused leader with a track record of leading $400M+ consumer goods businesses.

Currently, Svenson is a Non-Executive Director of the Brisbane Racing Club, a role he has held since May 2015. At Brisbane Racing Club, he serves as a Member of the Finance and Governance Committee and Membership Committee. He is also a Non-Executive Director of Allpress Espresso, a market-leading, multinational coffee roaster owned by Asahi, since July 2021. Svenson previously worked for over 14 at Unilever and Pearson.

Svenson holds certifications in providing Basic Life Support, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, and First Aid, all from Allens Training, issued in December 2020. He is a Former President of Toombul Junior District Cricket Club and has served as an Advisory Board Member of St. Agatha’s School in Clayfield.

Svenson has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Central Queensland and a Graduate Diploma of Management from the Australian Graduate School of Management at the University of New South Wales. He has completed the Strategic Management Program at Macquarie Graduate School of Management and is a Member of the Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership (IECL). He has also completed the Company Directors Course and is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
