  • Wicket-keeper batter Saideep Ganesh has been ruled out of the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off in Namibia after an injury sustained during the training camp in Bengaluru, India.
  • USA Men’s National Selection Panel names Saiteja Mukkamalla as the replacement.

Saideep Ganesh has been ruled out of the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup (CWC) Qualifier Play-off in Namibia due to an injury sustained during the USA training camp. Following medical assessment of his injury in Bengaluru, Saideep was advised  to return home for further medical treatment and recovery.

Saideep has been replaced by Saiteja Mukkamalla, who has been called into action for the United States of America from the reserves. Saiteja participated in the USA team’s training camp in Bengaluru and will now travel to Windhoek, Namibia, with the team on March 16.

The 2023 ICC CWC Qualifier Play-off is scheduled to begin on March 24 in Namibia. The Qualifier Play-off will feature six teams, including Canada, Papua New Guinea, Jersey, UAE, Namibia, and the USA; all competing for a chance to qualify for ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier in June 2023.
