Tickets for Australia’s blockbuster season-opening tour to South Africa in August have gone on sale. Cricket South Africa (CSA) today also announced ticket pricing for the visit by one of the Proteas’ fiercest rivals.

The tour will comprise fully of white-ball matches and start with three KFC T20 Internationals (T20Is) followed by a five-match Betway One-Day International (ODI) series.

The contest between two of the world’s best teams will come with loads of excitement and anticipation together with stadium entertainment, competitions, food, music and full fun family days of activities as the Aussies return to South Africa for the first time since 2020.

It will also mark the start of the 2023-24 international home season for CSA, who together with key partners KFC, Betway and SuperSport will be aiming to enhance the fan experience at the various stadia.

Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium in Durban will stage the three T20Is from 30 August to 03 September, before the first two ODIs will be staged at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein on 07 and 09 September.

The third ODI is scheduled to be contested at JB Marks Oval in Potchefstroom on 12 September, with the world-famous Highveld venues of SuperSport Park in Centurion (15 September) and DP World Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg (17 September) staging the final two games.

Ticket prices will start from R100 for adults, with children under the age of seven allowed free entry. Students and scholars together with pensioners can qualify for various discounts, subject to the various qualification criteria. Tickets will be available from TicketPro outlets or via their website at www.ticketpro.co.za

CSA Chief Executive Officer, Pholetsi Moseki, commented: “We are pleased to release tickets and their pricing well ahead of the tour. It will give fans plenty of time to plan for what we expect to be a high-quality series where some of the best players in the world will be on view. This, together with the well-thought-out pricing mean that the whole experience represents excellent value for money.

“The tour rekindles a spicy rivalry as we know between two sides that love to get one over the other, and the fact that the ODI series comes so close to the ICC Men’s 2023 World Cup, it will give both teams added incentive to try and set the tone for what is to come when the tournament is played in India.”

Moseki also believes the preceding T20I series will be an excellent opportunity for cricket fans in KZN to throw their weight behind the home team.

He added: “The Proteas have only faced Australia in a T20I in Durban twice, the last time was in 2016, and we felt it was only fair to give the city a full opportunity to show what they can do. Together with our sponsors, we will look to fill the stadium through vibrancy and colour, offering fans an experience they will never forget.”
