Western Australia is set for its biggest summer of Test cricket in a decade, with Australia’s Men’s and Women’s sides to play red ball cricket in Perth in 2023-24.
Western Australia is set for its biggest summer of Test cricket in a decade, with Australia’s Men’s and Women’s sides to play red ball cricket in Perth in 2023-24.
Cricket Australia has confirmed the international cricket schedule for the upcoming season, with WA to host three fixtures across two venues:
- 14-18 December 2023: First NRMA Insurance Men’s Test, Australia v Pakistan, Perth Stadium
- 13 February 2024: Dettol Men’s T20I, Australia v West Indies, Perth Stadium
- 15-18 February 2024: CommBank Women’s Test, Australia v South Africa, WACA Ground

WA Cricket welcomes the return of Perth’s Men’s Test match to its historically successful position on the calendar just before Christmas, coinciding with the beginning of school holidays.
The match will be the fourth Test match held at Perth Stadium, while it will represent the first Test Pakistan has played in Perth in 19 years.
We are also delighted to welcome the Australian Women’s National Team back to Perth for their first Test match here in 10 years.
The historic occasion will see Australia and South Africa face off for the first time in red ball cricket. The match will be held at the WACA Ground, which is currently undergoing significant redevelopment as part of the WACA Ground Improvement Project.
Australia’s Men’s team will return to Perth in February for a T20 International fixture against West Indies, part of a crucial series in the lead up to the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
Schedules for the KFC BBL|13 and Weber WBBL|09 seasons, plus domestic competitions, will be confirmed in coming months.

“We are thrilled the Men’s Test will be taking place in a slot that Perth has historically hosted well-attended Test matches. We look forward to seeing a great turnout at Perth Stadium against a very talented Pakistan side, as well as for the T20I against the West Indies in February.
“Similarly, we are proud to host the first ever Women’s Test between Australia and South Africa. This historic occasion will take place at the iconic WACA Ground, demonstrating its ongoing ability to host top tier matches.
