Cricket South Africa (CSA) governs cricket in South Africa. Formed in 2002, it succeeded the United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCB) and became the sole governing body in 2008. CSA oversees all levels of cricket, including national teams for men and women, and is a full ICC member and SASCOC affiliate.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) Board member and Chairperson of the Transformation Committee, Dr Eugenia Kula-Ameyaw, will on Friday join a panel discussion hosted by the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation and CSA.

Titled ‘Racism in Sports: The Voice of Cricketers’, the webinar will be facilitated by Ashraf Garda, Founder of the Champion South Africa movement, and include a broad discussion on the topic, which has come to the fore in recent weeks due to the Black Lives Matter (BLM) campaign.

This seminar will touch on topical issues that have gripped the conversation narrative in cricket.

It is also a platform for CSA to put across its own case of how the issues of racism and discrimination would be addressed through their recently approved Cricket for Social Justice and Nation Building (SJN) Concept proposed by the Transformation Committee.

The tenants of the concept will amongst others pertain the establishment the Office of the Transformation Ombudsman, whose core function will include managing independent complaints system, convene a National SJN Imbizo and provide assurance regarding the extent to which transformation programmes are impactful on society.

Former Proteas JP Duminy, Robin Peterson and Monde Zondeki, amongst others, will also be part of the panel.
