PCB is selling Gaddafi Stadium’s naming rights

Must Read

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is nearing the finalization of a significant deal to sell the naming rights of Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium to the Bank of Punjab, according to Tribune.

Reports say the agreement will rename the stadium to reflect the bank’s identity for the next five years.

This move is part of the PCB’s efforts to increase revenue through strategic commercial partnerships, following global trends where sports venues partner with major corporations for mutual benefits.

The rebranding of Gaddafi Stadium continues a trend seen in 2022, when Karachi’s National Stadium was renamed National Bank Cricket Arena and later National Bank Stadium after a five-year deal with the National Bank of Pakistan.

The sale of naming rights is expected to provide a significant financial boost to the PCB, aiding in the development of cricket across the country.

This deal is another step in the PCB’s broader strategy to leverage commercial opportunities within the sport.
