Test fast bowler James Pattinson has been included in the Brisbane Heat squad for tomorrow night’s KFC Big Bash League match against the Perth Scorchers at Optus Stadium.

Pattinson, who was a member of the Australian squad that completed a clean-sweep against New Zealand earlier this week in the Domain Test series, flew to Perth last night ahead of his Heat squad mates to give him more time to recover from the long flight to WA.

Now in his second season with the Heat, Pattinson comes into the 13-man squad for Mark Steketee.

Pattinson joins fellow Test player Joe Burns in the Heat squad after the Queensland batsman made his return to the BBL in last night’s exciting win over the Hobart Hurricanes at the Gabba.

Burns needs seven runs to achieve 1000 runs for the Heat in the BBL.

Pace bowler Josh Lalor claimed his 50th career BBL wicket last night in the win over Hobart.

Brisbane has won its past three games, including two away from home, defeating the Hurricanes in Hobart and then beating the Sydney Thunder in a rain-affected match on Monday.

The team is back at the Gabba on Tuesday for a rare afternoon game in the first of back-to-back clashes with the Adelaide Strikers.

Last night saw 29,724 fans pack the Gabba for the five-wicket win over Hobart.
