Bio

Kevin O’Brien is a former Ireland International Cricket Player and current senior executive.  After retiring from International Cricket in August 2022, O’Brien assumed the role of President of Irish Cricketers’ Association (ICA) in March 2022. As the ICA President, he works closely with the ICA Board and Cricket Ireland to develop the pathway for players at all levels.

As a player, O’Brien featured for Ireland National Men’s Team in 3 Tests, 153 ODIs and 110 T20Is, with his last International game played on 22 October 2021. O’Brien ended a 15-year career as his country’s most capped player across the three formats, having played 266 matches. He still holds the record for the fastest ODI World Cup hundred, coming off just 50 balls in Ireland’s win over England in the 2011 ODI World Cup in Bengaluru when he scored a 63-ball 113. He is also the only Ireland Men’s player to have scored a Test century.

O’Brien is also the Head Coach at Kevin O’Brien Cricket Academy, a role he has been performing since January 2011. At the academy, he provides one-on-one coaching, visits schools, clubs, and universities for specialist coaching, and runs cricket camps during Easter and summer holidays.

O’Brien graduated from Dublin Business School with a Diploma in Advertising, PR, Sales, and Marketing.
