More than $15,000 raised for CWA to support relief efforts.

Camden Cricket Club are doing their part to make a difference to the lives of those in regional New South Wales affected by the ongoing drought.

The club has been supporting the community of Condobolin for the past 18 months, with members of the club visiting multiple times with trailer loads of goods.

The club’s most recent trip delivered over five tons of bottled water, sanitary products, sporting equipment and toys in time for Christmas. The club was also able to assist with the relaying of two synthetic practice wickets at Trundle Central School for the local cricketers to be able to train on.

On Sunday, volunteers from the Camden Cricket Club facilitated the HomeWorld 50/50 Charity Raffle in support of the Country Women’s Association. Nearly $3,000 was raised to assist with drought relief efforts across the Thunder Nation.

The Camden Cricket Club also organised a bus for members of the Condobolin community to make the journey to Sydney for the game.

Greg Pinnington has been the driving force behind this amazing show of support for the Condobolin community and the Country Women’s Association of NSW.

“Back in June 2018 I made a decision to help the farmers and do a canned food drive to help drought relief in central NSW,” Pinnington said.

“I got on Facebook and talked to friends and with help from the Camden Cricket Club I raised over 4,000 cans of food and $2,000 and I took them to Condobolin CWA for distribution.

“We’ve also taken sporting equipment to get the school kids and the local adults active and back playing sport.

“We have raised approximately $13,000 at this stage, with all going to the Condobolin CWA. “Sydney Thunder has helped and supported me from the start. It was amazing to do the HomeWorld 50/50 Charity raffle at the match with all money and donations going directly to the Condobolin CWA.”
