Multan: The captain of Karachi Kings, Imad Wasim has backed Babar Azam and Sharjeel Khan as his main players throughout this edition of PSL.

In a pre-match presser before the clash against Multan Sultans, the skipper showed full trust in both the players as his key assets whether they perform or not.

“Performance is not in the hands of any players, I totally back them as my main players and will remain till the end of the tournament,” he said.

The left-handed batsman reminded the intent Sharjeel Khan showed in the first match against Peshawar Zalmi.

“We all saw his intent in the first match where he hit two sixes back to back, Sharjeel will play each match whether he performs or not, he is my match-winner,” he added.

Imad is not worried about the crowd pressure which expected to receive in the match tomorrow due to the match in Sultans’ home ground because all the players in the squad are professional.

“It doesn’t matter what the support is, we have to play our best in the ground. Our players are world-class and we are relaxed as far as pressure is a concern,” he added.

The 31-year-old praised the management of all the participating teams as they have picked the best squads for the PSL 5.

“All the teams in PSL have been picked smartly, credit goes to respective managements to selecting such strong squads. We can witness, all games are going down the wire, teams are not winning convincingly,” he maintained.

He is expecting a high-scoring pitch as the game will take place in the day and their strategy will remain the same to attack the opposition.

“I am expecting a high score game. Our strategy will remain the same just like previous matches,” Imad said.

“We are here to play aggressive cricket and we did that in the first match against Peshawar. We want to repeat that again whether we will get all-out in 17-or 18 overs. Our aim is to take on the bowlers and this is the demand of modern cricket too,” he added.

Kings, the most followed franchise of the PSL will play their third match against Sultans in Multan cricket stadium, tomorrow.
