A four-wicket haul by Sharafuddin Ashraf and half-centuries from Asghar Afghan and Usman Ghani provided Band-e Amir Dragons with their first victory of the Etisalat 4G Shpageeza Cricket League as they beat DG Bost Defenders by 9 wickets in the fifth match of the tournament. Ghani and Afghan remained unbeaten on 62 and 55 runs respectively as they chased the target of 134 with five overs to spare.

Ghani and Afghan remained unbeaten on 62 and 55 runs respectively as they chased the target of 134 with five overs to spare.

Earlier, Defenders’ skipper Gulbadin Naib won the toss and opted to bat first putting 133/9 in the allotted overs. Spinners Sharafuddin Ashraf and Waqar Salamkheil took 4 and 3 wickets respectively for the Dragons while Imran Janat top-scored with 33 for Bost Defenders.

In response, the Dragons lost Hazratullah Zazai in the fifth over when he was bowled by Karim Janat off a brilliant Yorker. Usman Ghani and Asghar Afghan put on a partnership of 107 to clinch a comprehsive victory for their team.

The DFI Band-e Amir Dragons will face Ahmadzai Amo Sharks tomorrow morning in their next match of the tournament.
