The Melbourne Stars have confirmed the appointment of Blair Crouch as the club’s new General Manager on a permanent basis.

Mr Crouch first joined the Stars in May in an acting capacity while Nick Cummins was interim CEO of Cricket Victoria.

Prior to joining the Stars, Mr Crouch was the Global Head of Strategic Partnerships for fitness app Sweat which delivers workout programs to more than half a million monthly active users.

Mr Crouch has previously held executive marketing and strategy roles at MKTG, Moonee Valley Racing Club and Gemba and spent five years as Head of Commercial Partnerships at the AFL.

Cricket Victoria CEO Nick Cummins said he was pleased to confirm Mr Crouch’s appointment.

“We’re really looking forward to the next era of the Melbourne Stars under Blair’s leadership,” Cummins said.

“Blair’s experience across the Australian sport, marketing and commercial sectors and his passion for the Melbourne Stars has him well placed to drive the club towards sustained on and off-field success into the future.”

Crouch said he was delighted to lead the Melbourne Stars.

“This is a real privilege and a fantastic opportunity that I’m looking forward to being able to tackle over the seasons ahead,” Crouch said.

“It’s a strong brand with fantastic connections with the community and a wonderful playing list. More than that, the club has continually invested in its culture and that is reflected in what the Stars mean to our players, coaches, partners, members and fans.”

“The next chapter for the Melbourne Stars is an exciting one and I’d like to thank Cricket Victoria for the chance to build that,” Crouch said.

Crouch’s appointment is effective immediately.
