L-FRESH The LION to play at Sydney Thunder’s ‘Best of the West’ match

Western Sydney’s own rap and hip-hop star, L-FRESH The LION, is set to perform at Sydney Thunder’s Showground Stadium clash with Perth Scorchers on January 8.

The ‘Survive’ rapper will take to the stage with DJ Nicole Tania to get the vibes going before Thunder battle it out with current KFC|BBL champions, Perth Scorchers.

L-FRESH is a homegrown talent with a passion for giving back to his community, one of the many reasons he’s a great fit for Thunder’s ‘Best of the West’ match.

As well as an electrifying performance from The LION, the match will be filled with celebrations of all things Western Sydney.

The curtain raiser to all on the day will be the HomeWorld Thunder Nation Cup Final, a competition designed to unite and revere the community and its home nations. Competing in the final is India and Pakistan for this year’s title.

Sydney Thunder’s Hero of the West will also be named, as volunteers from all over Western Sydney are put forward for the accolade. The winner will receive tickets to the governor’s lounge and the coveted trophy as the are declared BBL|13’s Hero of the West. The match will truly be a huge celebration.

Australian hip-hop artist, L-FRESH The LION, said: “My inner teenager is super excited about playing at Showground Stadium!

“I used to play a bit myself so this is really cool. I can’t wait to get out in front of a Thunder home crowd and get the vibes going.”

Sydney Thunder fast bowler, Gurinder Sandhu, commented: “L-FRESH and I have known each other a little while now, it’s wicked he’s going to performing at our home game against the [Perth] Scorchers.

“He always brings the energy; I can’t wait to see him do his thing and get the crowd going before we run out there!”
