The Andhra Premier League (APL) is set to return for Season 4 with a major expansion, growing from six to seven franchise teams. Organised by the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) and sanctioned by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the league is quickly establishing itself as a key player in India’s domestic T20 landscape.
Teams now represent all three regions of Andhra Pradesh
Season 4 marks a strategic shift, with the inclusion of teams from all three geographical zones of the state. The South Zone will be represented by RK Sports, Akshara Enterprises India Pvt. Ltd., and Vijetha Super Market Pvt. Ltd. The Central Zone features Aparna Marine Exports and Mythri Movie Makers, while the North Zone includes Marlin Global Energy Pvt. Ltd. and Steel Exchange India Ltd.
This broader representation not only enhances regional pride but also underscores the league’s growing grassroots appeal across Andhra Pradesh.
Grassroots development and community impact at the core
Season 4 isn’t just about more matches—it’s about making an impact. The APL governing council announced that revenues from this edition will go directly into grassroots cricket programs, helping nurture young boys and girls throughout the state.
“A bold new chapter begins! The arrival of our franchise teams is more than just growth—it’s the rise of a new cricketing spirit in Andhra Pradesh. Together, we are not just building a league but also crafting a legacy,” said Kesineni Sivanath, honorary president of the ACA.
“The Andhra Premier League is poised to unite communities, ignite dreams and empower future champions.”
League expansion marks a milestone for ACA
Sana Sathish Babu, secretary of the ACA, called the expansion a turning point in the league’s development: “We are thrilled to welcome our new franchises into the Andhra Premier League family. Their arrival marks a defining moment in our journey to elevate cricket in Andhra Pradesh.”
“These teams will not only energise the spirit of competition but also foster a deeper connection between our league and the passionate fans across the state.”
“The enthusiasm and professionalism shown by each franchise is a reflection of the bright future ahead.”
Building a legacy of grit, dreams and community
With fan excitement growing, organizers are working to ensure a smooth and high-impact tournament. The start date for Season 4 will be announced shortly.
“A new era begins. We welcome our franchise teams to a league built on dreams, grit and glory,” said Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao, chairman of the APL governing council.
As preparations ramp up, APL Season 4 promises to be more than a cricket tournament. It aims to become a cornerstone of sporting culture and community engagement across Andhra Pradesh.
