Role Summary
As General Manager Community Cricket, you will take responsibility for leading the Community Cricket programme, providing direction and support for our key personnel covering senior cricket, junior and youth cricket, umpires and officials’ development and coach development programmes. The role will drive the strategic direction of the community cricket department to deliver on its aim to lead the delivery of community cricket across the wider Auckland Region.
You will be responsible for creating an integrated, aligned, and collaborative community network that drives long term development within our community cricketing system. Your role will be critical in developing and growing strong relationships that will aid in this key strategic goal, including with our main partner, New Zealand Cricket.
Desired Skills and Experience
- A proven track record in community sporting environments.
- Ability to lead strategic planning, execution, and delivery.
- Strategic programme design, delivery and assessment experience including the development and management of annual strategic and operational plans.
- Prior competition management or experience would be an advantage.
- Prior delivery of community sport growth strategies would be an advantage
- Business acumen to include budget management and delivery, financial application to specific programmes and review.
- Strategic leadership including progressive people management to drive a professional development culture.
- Ability to influence others and constructively challenge if/when required.
- Strong communication skills and ability to develop strong relationships with a very diverse group of internal and external stakeholders.
- Relevant tertiary qualification within sports management or business.
