The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) extends its heartfelt gratitude to Mushfiqur Rahim for his outstanding service to the country in One-Day Internationals (ODIs), following the announcement of his retirement from the format after a remarkable two-decade-long journey.

The BCB acknowledges the extraordinary dedication, passion and professionalism that Mushfiqur brought to Bangladesh’s ODI cricket. His performances, both with the bat and behind the stumps, have been integral to the country’s progress in the format.

BCB President Faruque Ahmed expressed his admiration and appreciation for Mushfiqur’s contributions: “Mushfiqur Rahim’s work ethic, resilience, and dogged determination serve as examples that will inspire generations to come. His name will always shine brightly when we speak of Bangladesh’s finest ODI moments.

“It is an unbelievable accomplishment to have played this format at the highest level for 19 years, which speaks volumes about his consistency and character.

“I am certain he still has much to offer to cricket, and we look forward to him continuing to set standards both on and off the field.”

Mushfiqur holds the record for the most ODI appearances (274) for Bangladesh. With 7,795 runs, he is the country’s second-highest run-scorer in ODIs. He has 243 catches and 56 stumpings to his name and is the most successful wicketkeeper in Bangladesh’s ODI history. He has also captained Bangladesh in 37 ODIs and is one of the few cricketers to have appeared in five ICC ODI World Cup tournaments.
