The tournament reached new heights in viewership, with India’s victory over New Zealand in the final on 9 March becoming the most watched Champions Trophy match ever. The match logged 65.3 billion live viewing minutes globally — up 52.1% from the 2017 final — making it the third most watched ICC match of all time.
Only the India vs New Zealand semi-final and the India vs Australia final from the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 drew more live watch time in India.
Champions Trophy 2025 breaks viewership records across key markets
The Champions Trophy 2025 was broadcast across 29 channels in nine languages, including innovative coverage features like Indian Sign Language feeds, audio descriptive commentary, and the mobile-optimized vertical MaxView feed. These advancements contributed to the tournament’s massive success, especially in India, where it became the most watched Champions Trophy ever.
Other key market highlights:
- Australia: Viewership grew by 65% compared to 2017, with Amazon Prime Video delivering the most-watched ICC event on the platform.
- USA: Watch time increased by 38% despite less favorable match timings, with Willow TV seeing a surge in engagement.
- Pakistan: Even though the hosts didn’t retain the trophy, viewership still rose by 24% versus 2017 figures.

Digital platforms played a major role in Champions Trophy 2025’s success, with India recording the highest proportion of digital viewership ever for an ICC event. The MaxView vertical format especially resonated with mobile-first audiences.
