Cricket Canada announces the successful conclusion of the arbitration initiated by Bombay Sports Co. Ltd. under the 2019 Licence Agreement for GT20 Canada. On 29 July 2026, the Arbitrator dismissed Bombay Sports’ claim in its entirety and upheld Cricket Canada’s Counterclaim.
The Award requires Bombay Sports to:
- Pay Cricket Canada USD 392,323.62, plus interest; and
- Return all GT20 Canada intellectual property and related materials within 14 days.
This dispute originated under the previous administration. Since its election, the current Board has implemented significant governance and operational reforms, including the appointment of a new legal team operating at a fraction of the cost incurred by the prior Board. These reforms have strengthened Cricket Canada’s compliance posture and contributed to the efficient resolution of legacy legal matters.

This arbitration outcome reflects the progress we are making and our commitment to transparency, accountability, and responsible management.”

Cricket Canada will now initiate the necessary steps to recover the awarded amount and ensure the full return of GT20 Canada intellectual property.
